All active cases in the region are from three visitors

April 20, 2021

All of the region's current active cases of COVID-19 are the result of three infected people coming from red or orange zones.

This, according to what the Director of Public Health reports in his latest epidemiological assessment.

There are currently 36 cases in the Gaspesia-the-Islands region, of which 20 are variants. Doctor Yv Bonnier-Viger confirms that the people who developed the virus are all linked to these three visitors, adding that they traveled to the region before the ban went into effect on April 8.

The Director of Public Health explains that the situation is under control given that those infected are in isolation.

Dr. Bonnier-Viger believes that because of this, the region will remain in the yellow zone as long as the population continues to closely follows the health measures in place.
