Three new cases reported in the region

The latest COVID-19 update from the Gaspesia-the Islands public health department reports three new cases.

The total number of cases declared since the start of the pandemic has therefore increased to 1,817.

Two cases have been added in the Rocher-Percé MRC, while another case has been identified in the Avignon MRC.

A case was also withdrawn in Rocher-Percé due to a laboratory problem. This explains why the number of cases rose from 455 yesterday to 456 on Wednesday, despite the two new infections.

One person is still hospitalized, while six more people are now considered recovered.

Avignon: 415 (+1)

Bonaventure: 383 (-)

Rocher-Percé: 456 (+2)

Côte-de-Gaspé: 469 (-)

Upper Gaspé: 47

Magdalen Islands: 47 (-)

37 cases of confirmed or presumptive variants have been identified by the CISSS de la Gaspésie, which is stable compared to Tuesday.
